#NaNoProMo National Novel Promotion Month took place in May. I missed it. Better late than never!
“Do you know that statistically speaking, if you want to sell 5000 books during the first week of launch, you either have to invest HEAVILY in marketing and promo opportunities, OR you’re going to need an email list or engaged group of over 25,000?”
I had over 7000 in one Plugin, and/or over 6000 in the WordPress “subscribers” list. I don’t know if that counts as email, or if there’s a crossover between the two.
“a Facebook group – and I stick to group not Facebook fan page”
I belong to half a dozen dead groups. I don’t know what I’d add to a third Facebook thing. I barely keep up with the profile and page.
“most self-published authors will sell less than 100 books”
Okay, thanks for the heads up.

Identify WHO your book is written for. — I’ve worked on this a few times.
Create content that is appealing to your target audience — There are several years of blog posts here for that purpose and with that intention.
Seek opportunities for visibility — I should do more of this.
