Writing Book Reviews As An Author

Inspiration To Make It Easier

By: J Lenni Dorner

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary blogging from A to Z challenge letter R
is for Recommend

Would you recommend the book, and why or why not? Who, or what groups, do you think might enjoy it, or should avoid it? Do you know who the book was written for, who the original target audience was?

What age group is this appropriate for, and is it correctly categorized for them? (Especially with children’s books.) Would you recommend it only to others who like the genre? Or do you think this book would appeal to a wider audience?

If it is a clean-read, you might suggest it to those looking for such books. Or, if you think it would offend a certain group, you might recommend they not read it.

  1. If I am recommending a book I would normally not make assumptions about whether someone would or not find it suitable – but if something, in particular, stood out I would give a heads up.

thanks for your nice topic share with us… its make me my day

  2. I have one friend who is an expert at book recommendations – because he can recommend books that he himself didn’t like, and guess very well who might like them anyway. It’s a talent 😀

  3. I recommend based on my own experiences – don’t think I can assess other groups/peoples’ requirements and tailor recos for them. Though sometimes a book is a hit with a person or group you thought would be most most unlikely.

  4. I almost never give book reviews. I don’t actually feel that comfortable doing it.

  5. Of course. I’ve fallen out of the habit of adding whether or not I would recommend a book and to whom I would recommend it to… Thanks for the reminder.
